Abstract
Content
The analysis of epicyclic gearboxes starts from the Kinematic diagram and the number of teeth (or the constants of epicyclic train) and has as results the angular speeds and the torsion for each component element as well as the ratios of the gearbox and the power flow.
The method consists of the transformation of the Kinematic diagram using a symbolic description of the elements and the links between them.
The equations describing the speeds correlation and the distribution of torsion are used in order to build up the matrices of coefficients, which permit the determination of the angular speeds and the torsion for each component element.
The values calculated as it is mentioned above are used for the calculation of power flows.
The method permits an extended use of the computer resulting in a shorter time dedicated to the analysis process. The method is useful for comparative evaluation of various solutions of epicyclic gearboxes.
