A MANAGEMENT PROCESS FOR CALS COMPLIANT AUTOMATION

CALS is an initiative, jointly developed and mutually accepted, by DoD and Industry to enable and accelerate the use and integration of digital technical information. It is definitely not an automated system "template" for government or industry implementation of automated systems. The challenge for industry is to ensure that the CALS initiative is pursued and implemented. This paper proposes a management process which could successfully bring about CALS-compliant automated systems.
