Authors Abstract
Content
A method of evaluating oil thickening under high temperature conditions has been developed in a single cylinder gasoline engine. It is a preliminary laboratory engine test method which has been used for the evaluation of experimental antioxidants, and the paper includes results and discussion of work in this field. Development of the method to achieve required severity, precision, and correlation with other methods such as the ASTM Sequence IIIC is also described.
