Authors Abstract
Content
The representation of Soldier performance is essential to the development of military capability. Representation through models, particularly task-network models, can give critical insight to issues such as crew manning, system interfaces, and the development of technology requirements so that Soldiers, enabled by technology, can win the battle. An extension to the current implementations of task-network models is proposed that can address platform-level issues (e.g., crew size, technology assessment, lethality) for both operations and sustainment. This “building block” approach capitalizes on the redundancies of military operations to provide the ability to address Soldier performance issues that were previously difficult to project for large programs on the scope of Future Combat Systems (FCS).
