The 214st Lead-The-Fleet Program

The 214ST drive system Lead-the-Fleet program was an engineering inspection program that successfully verified the general durability of the drive system components and the initially established time between overhauls (TBOs). The program also identified several areas in which modification or redesign may further improve component durability, reduce overhaul costs, and yield component configurations capable of achieving even longer TBOs. Additionally, the program established that engineering programs of this nature can be accomplished without excessive aircraft downtime.
