Rolf Reitz is developing advanced computer models for fuel injected engines, including diesel and spark-ignited engines. Here he discusses how his research in spray modeling could help in the design of highly efficient, low emission vehicles. Reitz is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He's also a member of the Wisconsin Engine Research Center (WERC), as well as the Model Fuels Consortium.
