When it comes to EV charging, many of us are wondering: what comes after the plug? The answer is one of the hottest topics in mobility: Wireless Power Transfer. Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is the process whereby electrical energy is transmitted from a power source to an electrical load across an air gap using induction coils. It's a game-changer in terms of EV adoption given its high-power, touchless charging ability. For insight into this ground-breaking technology, we sat down with Jesse Schneider, CEO/CTO, ZEV Station, a company working to commercialize wireless charging and hydrogen fuel technology. We discuss his background and leadership in developing the SAE J2954 standard on Wireless Power Transfer for EVs and how ZEV Station is combining fast electric vehicle charging with complementary high-throughput hydrogen stations. If developing industry standards interests you, consider joining an SAE Committee.
