A traditional Class 8 truck is on the road for a million miles or more over its lifetime. For autonomous trucks, that number could double to two million or more--and that requires a specialty focus on scalability and safety. Enter Continental Automotive, a multinational automotive parts manufacturer pioneering technologies and services for the sustainable and connected mobility of people and goods. Continental has partnered with Aurora to commercially scale autonomous trucking systems. Together, they recently finalized the completion of the blueprint and design of the future Aurora Driver hardware and fallback system. To learn more, we sat down with Phil McEwen, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial and Special Vehicles North America, Continental Automotive, to discuss the importance of safety in autonomous trucking technology, the partnership with Aurora, and the future of autonomy. We're also honored to have Continental as the Executive Leadership sponsor of COMVEC, the leading forum for global experts in the commercial vehicle industry taking place September 10-12. Join us as we network, exchange ideas, and get up to date on research and technology. Learn more and register now.
