SAE TOMORROW TODAY: Partnering with Law Enforcement for Safer Avs

As autonomous trucks scale nationwide, law enforcement has a critical role to play in the development of safe roadway policies for the AV industry. In an effort to incorporate this perspective, some self-driving technology companies, like Kodiak Robotics and Aurora, are partnering with experienced law enforcement professionals to ensure autonomous trucks meet rigorous standards before they are deployed on U.S. highways. For insight into this partnership, we sat down with Brett M. Fabbri, Head of Law Enforcement Policy, Kodiak Robotics; Captain Bart Teeter, Texas Highway Patrol; and Gary L. McCarthy, Senior Manager of Law Enforcement Interaction, Aurora.
