Introduction of China Next Stage OBD for Light Duty Vehicles

In past two decades, OBD requirement has a speed progress in China. The OBD supervision system has successfully helped hundreds of millions vehicles consistently compliant with pollutant emission control requirement. China Vehicle Emission Control Center(VECC) has executed a series of study for Next stage light duty vehicle emission regulation in recent years. VECC wishes OBD could play more important role to improve ozone and particulate matter emission, and achieve pollutant and green house gas emission coordinately management. In this speech, new diagnosis requirement/failure threshold/enable conditions are discussed. Remote data collection is also focused to build a high efficiency OBD supervision system, by which OEM could get convenience from production and in use vehicle compliance check, and customer could get in time fix service.
