High speed video of diesel split injection in a single cylinder optical engine

The video shows the split injection from a common rail diesel fuel injector and the subsequent combustion. A high repetition CU+ laser at 10kHZ was used to illuminate the fuel spary so that the Mie scattering from the fuel droplets and the subsequent combustion were imaged by a high speed video camera.
