Diagnostic and Repair Services for Advanced Driver Aid Systems and Automated Vehicles

For years OBD has been primarily used as a means of regulatory certification and vehicle repair for components and systems for emissions compliance. Agencies are investigating how to leverage these OBD systems as means to monitor the degradation over time as a result of normal wear and tear to those components and systems which are critical to the proper performance of ADAS functions or that of safe operation of ADS vehicles. The presentation given will outline from a high level ADAS and hypothesize a pathway to set a baseline industry standard, which could be incorporated by reference for any future vehicle inspection program.
