On Board Diagnostics Legislation for Euro 6/VI Light and Heavy Duty Vehicles in Europe

With the finalization of Euro 6 light duty OBD requirements and the discussion on Euro VI heavy duty vehicles OBD requirements pending, a number of issues related to the technical feasibility and the expected environmental benefit of future OBD legislation need to be addressed. This presentation will review the current status of play in the OBD legislation at European level. The necessity and the availability of required monitoring technologies will be discussed in terms of what is achievable and what is the effect of the available options on vehicle emissions savings.
