Sound quality is one of the most important desired attributes for the customers, and road noise is one of the most vital factors influencing sound quality. Road noise is the major interior noise source, especially for EVs, and it is a common customer complaint. In order to improve the customers’ satisfaction and market share, almost all the OEMs have spent lots of sources on the road noise attenuation.

The instructor will cover tire structure vibration, noise induced by interaction between tire and road, tire cavity noise, suspension vibration and force identification, vehicle body structure vibration and structure-borne road noise control, sound package and air-borne road noise control.

Engineers working in NVH, suspension and/or body design who are concerned with road noise and its sources would benefit from attending this course. OEM and supplier design, application and materials engineers involved in the design and manufacture of specific components and systems such as tires, suspension-related components (such as suspension rubber cover), material selection for components, would also benefit.
