The Battery Heat Blueprint: From Cell Fundamentals to System Design and Deployment

C2510

Abstract
Content

This intensive two-day course combines lectures, case studies, and practical exercises to give engineers a practical understanding of battery thermal management. Participants will explore thermal fundamentals, analyze industry best practices, and work on applied projects to design and assess solutions.

Learning Objectives
Content
By successfully completing this course, you’ll be able to:
  • Identify battery cell characteristics related to thermal performance
  • Compare and contrast tradeoffs in cell-related pedigrees
  • Identify failure modes and safety risks associated with poor thermal control
  • Apply validation modeling and simulation to quantify thermal system design
  • Develop and present a basic thermal management plan for a case study system
Who Should Attend
Content

Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Systems Engineers who are designing or deploying advanced battery cells and battery systems. This audience often has little understanding of the uniqueness of different cell and system types and how they affect performance and functionality, so this course will enhance their familiarity with requirements and deployment techniques. As cell thermal failures are one of the leading causes of events (early failures in the field, lack of performance or life, thermal events), a thorough comprehension of how to successfully deploy the right system is essential for this audience.
