Individuals responsible for quality management system (QMS) implementation, preparation, realization, and auditing to the AS9100:2016 standard series for Aviation, Space, and Defense (ASD) require an understanding of the aerospace quality series of standards and their requirements. When these standards are implemented and correctly maintained, utilizing the process approach of managing risks and proactively identifying opportunities their use results in improved performance. An understanding of Certification Body requirements will have a direct impact on the outcome of the QMS audit as companies utilize AS9100 Rev. D. This course will provide organizations with insights to start planning effective implementation strategies.
Over two days, the learner will begin with an understanding of standards development. That is followed by an in-depth review of AS9100 Rev. D: Quality Management Systems and the intent of the requirements. Included is a detailed discussion of the AS9100 standard, with special emphasis on the process approach, Annex SL high level structure, risk-based thinking versus risk management, product safety, counterfeit parts, and human factors. Additionally, AS9101 Rev. G: Requirements for Conducting Audits of ASD QMS and AS9104-1 Rev. A: Requirements for Certification of ASD QMS will be examined so that individuals responsible for AS9100 Rev. D implementation understand the audit requirements.
