Diesel Injection Pump Testing-Part 1: Calibrating Nozzle and Holder Assemblies
- Ground Vehicle Standard
This part of SAE J 968 specifies two types of calibrating nozzle and holder assemblies intended for the testing and setting of diesel injection pumps on test benches.
It applies to: a. a calibrating nozzle and holder assembly with a single hole orifice plate; and b. a calibrating nozzle and holder assembly with a delay pintle type nozzle.
The approximate range of the calibrating nozzle and holder assembly is up to: a. 300 mm₃/stroke with the single hole orifice plate; and b. 150 mm₃/stroke with the delay pintle type nozzle. Setting and maintenance requirements are specified in ISO 4008/3.
Data Sets - Support Documents
The Diesel Fuel Injection Equipment Standards Committee reports to the Powertrain Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to the design, manufacture, use and servicing of diesel fuel injection equipment. These documents are developed in harmony with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The committee serves as the U.S. delegate to ISO/TC22/SC7 - Road Vehicles, Injection Equipment and Filters. Participants in the SAE Diesel Fuel Injection Equipment Standards Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
