Scope
This SAE Recommended Practice is to establish the Antilock Brake System (ABS) sensor interface and envelope dimensions for standardizing the location of the Antilock Brake System (ABS) rings mounted on the inner end of the hub on the following axle designations: a. FF front; b. FL front; c. L powered rear; d. R powered rear; e. U powered rear; f. W powered rear; g. N trailer and h. P trailer.
This document provides standardized wheel end Antilock Brake System (ABS) sensor interface dimensions for spoke wheels and hubs intended for normal highway use on trucks, buses, truck trailers, and multipurpose passenger vehicles.

Issuing Committee
The responsibility of the Truck and Bus Wheel Committee of the Truck and Bus Brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Steering Committee is to initiate, develop, review and approve the recommended practices, standards, and information reports related to hubs, wheels and the wheel mounting systems of buses, trucks and tractor-trailer combinations intended for highway use. The Wheel Committee is constituted so as to be aware of other SAE wheel activity and to prevent duplication of effort.
