Abstract
A study was made in Delhi City on frequency of usage of various intermittent Electrical Loads on two wheelers during different driving conditions as below:
-
a)
Day/Night Time
-
b)
Peak Traffic Hours
-
c)
Different Test Riders
The study showed following salient results:
-
a)
Horn and indicators are used upto a maximum of 5.45% and 6.84% respectively of the total driving time.
-
b)
All intermittent loads are used together for a maximum of 0.36% of the total driving time.
-
c)
The prime load on the battery is from Brake Light in heavy traffic density route, which varies from 15.53% to 71.95% (on an average 35%) and constitutes major factor for optimization of the charging circuit, battery capacity and other electrical loads on the battery.
This Paper explains the methodology, the hardware used and the detailed observations made during the above study.
