Abstract
The limited slip differential has become a favorite option among customers who demand improved traction capabilities from their vehicles. The traction performance requirements must be analyzed to determine what type of limited slip design will best meet the needs of the vehicle. The design selected must also satisfy the structual requirements of the other axle components and yet be producible on conventional axle manufacturing equipment.
