SAE 2009 World Congress host company Honda calls for collaboration and urgency in the race for green mobility.
Races-both sporting and political-are often associated with cutthroat competition and only one victor. However, Masaaki Kato, Chairman of the SAE 2009 World Congress and President of Honda R&D Co. Ltd., is calling for a race toward a common goal where all automotive OEMs and suppliers, as well as society as a whole, can come out as winners.
As far back as last year's World Congress, Kato was setting the theme of this year's event, “Racing to Green Mobility.” In a keynote address, he spoke about a race toward an ultimate goal of dramatically reducing CO2 emissions that lead to global warming, a cause he considers to be the single most important issue facing the automotive industry.
