Off-highway HMIs use consumer technologies to add functions, simplify tasks.
Consumer products are helping transform human-machine interfaces, improving efficiency by making controls more intuitive. Display technologies, touch inputs, and even the idea of favorites are being used to help operators do more work with less training.
HMI developers are focusing on two factors as they adjust the many technologies that make up user interfaces. One is to let inexperienced operators do professional-grade work in relatively short timeframes. The other focus is to help experienced operators do more work in a given time while also eliminating tasks that lead to fatigue.
