Networks link control modules to bring more features and functions to the job site.
Microcontrollers are transforming off-highway equipment, adding a myriad of new features and functions. As a growing number of processors control more and more aspects of equipment, these control units are increasingly communicating via local area networks.
Networks make it possible for engines and hydraulic systems, for example, to share data so that they can both run more efficiently. Equipment developers are rapidly adopting CAN, the controller area network that is ubiquitous in autos.
