Japanese host company looks to take steps toward sustainability at the April 16-19 event.

Signifying the new automotive landscape in the United States, 2007 marks the first time that an Asian OEM will serve as host company of the SAE World Congress. Toyota, the Japanese automaker at the forefront of much of that change, welcomed the opportunity to host the world's premier automotive engineering conference.

Toyota believes that OEMs, whether from the U.S., Germany, Japan, Korea, or elsewhere, face many of the same challenges. When searching for a theme for this year's event-to be held April 16-19 at Detroit's Cobo Center-organizers landed on something that demands the attention of all automakers, creating globally sustainable mobility.
