AVL Powertrain Engineering has added a diesel filter weigh room at its Plymouth, Ml, headquarters that will enable diesel engine manufacturers to develop new systems to meet 2007 and 2010 federal emissions regulations. The room features two weighing stations made up of high-precision scales mounted on vibration-insulated marble tables. The stations are located in a clean room with precise control of temperature and humidity. The room is also equipped with an electronic bar-code scanner that tracks each stage of the filter-weighing process.
