Being in charge of an SAE Student Chapter entails everything from organizing meetings to issuing ‘nastygrams.’
CLASSES START IN TWO DAYS and I'm sitting in a conference room for the first University of Wisconsin-Madison's SAE Leaders Meeting for the 2016 competition season. I am a senior majoring in mechanical engineering and currently serve as SAE Student Chapter President. I've been a part of SAE International for five years, starting my freshman year with the SAE Clean Snowmobile Team, working my way to a leadership position before helping manage all four of the Madison teams, under Advisor Glenn Bower.
Madison is fortunate enough to have three teams competing in the SAE Collegiate Design Series (CDS): Baja SAE, SAE Clean Snowmobile, and Formula SAE. Outside of CDS, we have a Hybrid team.
