- The existing traffic junctions operate in a sequential order. The wait time in the signal depends on the existing vehicle queues in all lanes. Also it depends on the signal duration given for each lane. As we have seen, when the waiting time is too long, the solution is to build the underpass or fly overs in such junctions, so that movement of vehicles in one lane is not obstructed by other lanes, in the same plane. However in order to have the smooth vehicle movement in all directions, more such structures are needed. I.e More layers of road infrastructure are built on top of one another. This advantage comes with high expenditure on infrastructure. Often such solutions may not be affordable. In such circumstances, currently there are few alternatives. In this paper we are introducing one such method.
