RUMBAUGH AWARD RECIPIENT RANDY FLORESCA SAYS BEING INVOLVED WITH SAE WAS KEY TO SECURING HIS CURRENT JOB.

RANDY B. FLORESCA, a test engineer at General Motors, received the SAE International Rumbaugh Outstanding Student Leader Award during the SAE 2011 World Congress. Floresca has been working in the Global Battery Systems Laboratory at General Motors as a battery cell and module test engineer for the past 10 months. He graduated from San Jose State University (SJSU) in May 2010 with a degree in mechanical engineering.

The Rumbaugh Award, established in 2002 through a contribution from Max E. Rumbaugh Jr., past Executive Vice President of SAE (1986-2001), recognizes an outstanding student leader of one or more SAE activities and encourages the student to become an SAE leader in his or her adult career.
