VETERAN ENGINEERS LEARNED about SAE Collegiate Design Series team projects, while students practiced the art of selling their talents at SAE Mid-Michigan section's annual oral presentation competition.

Participation in an SAE Collegiate Design Series (CDS) competition presents opportunities to volunteer for assignments, demonstrate the ability to work with teammates, and rise to a leadership role. That's important, as job interviewers like engineering candidates with handson experience, and they especially like individuals who communicate well. “It's how you sell yourself, your brand,” said David Bakos, General Motors' Executive Director of Global Aftersales Engineering and Service Operations.
