Researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Luminescence and Applications, Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, have successfully developed a wide-bandwidth, low-polarization semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based on tensile-strained quantum wells.
