The 27-year SAE veteran promises to focus on the needs of the customer and to become better acquainted with the Detroit automotive community.
Raymond A. Morris became the fifth chief staff officer in SAE International's 96-year history on January 1, 2002. He succeeds retired 16-year Executive Vice President (EVP) and Secretary Max E. Rumbaugh, Jr., who will serve as EVP Emeritus through 2002.
Morris knows his new role will be a challenge, but he seems up to the task. He joined the SAE staff in 1974 as Publications Advertising and Marketing Manager and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility ever since. Prior to joining SAE, Morris worked for the Pannier Corp. of Pittsburgh as General Manager of the company's Gard Division. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and is Past President of the Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives. During his 27 years with SAE, Morris has traveled to more than 25 countries in support of the society's global activities.
