Electronic controls have transformed off-highway equipment in a fairly short time. While improved fuel economy, lower emissions, and more comfortable work environments often hog the spotlight, electronics have also made vehicles far safer.

Protecting operators and bystanders takes many forms, from preventing rollovers to providing backup systems when controllers fail. These systems also protect equipment, preventing damage that can injure workers or leave them stranded in remote areas.
