Bosch and Temic engineers are developing technologies for passive entry, vehicle immobilization, and remote control.
OEMs and their suppliers are developing a number of closure systems to maximize passenger safety and comfort. Vehicle immobilizer systems based on transponder technology are used to reduce the theft rate of vehicles. Passenger entry systems add additional features such as remote control and passive entry. Electromechanical latches provide the customer with new locking functions including central door locking (CDL), double locking (DL), and electronic controlled child safety (CS) latch.
A new closure system developed by engineers at Robert Bosch to enhance vehicle security and driver comfort will replace the firm's existing immobilizers, UHF remote controls, and mechanical locking systems. The system uses a single-chip transponder for vehicle immobilization, passive entry, and remote control functionality and can be integrated into a key fob or a smart card.
