If you're in the business of making machine tools for aerospace applications, you're probably working on improvements in cutting tough metals and composites.
How's this for a challenge to makers of machine tools for aerospace applications: “95% of the new materials used in the new aircraft programs are impossible to machine with conventional CNC machines.”
So says Scott Walker, President of Mitsui Seiki North America. His company and others are hard at work developing the technologies to make the impossible possible, especially as it relates to titanium.
