LCDs, touch-screen technology transform the look and feel of cabs.
Digital displays are changing the look and feel of cabs, giving operators a cleaner view with fewer gauges and individual controls. LCDs also give design engineers far more flexibility, changing both the visual aspects and the control functions.
The screens can show a range of gauges and diagnostic codes, while also serving double duty as video screens on equipment that employs cameras to help operators see what they are working on. At the same time, displays can help reduce the number of buttons, knobs, and switches. A single rotary knob can be used to scroll through several options shown on the screen, eliminating the need for individual controls once needed for each of those operations.
