What future digital capabilities are farmers most excited about? “AI,” Kelly Garrett, a sixth-generation farmer and owner of Garrett Land & Cattle in Arion, Iowa, flatly said during a John Deere press event at the Digital Ag Innovation Lab at Iowa State University prior to the Farm Progress Show.

Moments later, John Deere announced the launch of JD, its AI assistant developed to help farmers access and use their data more easily and efficiently. JD is embedded in the John Deere Operations Center, a cloud-based centralized platform, allowing farmers to ask it questions instead of having to search across multiple dashboards or reports.
