The 3.0-L V6 turbodiesel can produce as much as 600 N·m with the aid of twin parallel sequential turbochargers.
Originally hesitant about joining the diesel engine party, Jaguar is now thoroughly enthusiastic and is introducing a 3.0-L V6 for MY2009 incorporating a raft of technologies to support enhanced power output and economy, quieter operation, and reduced emissions that together complement the company's luxury/performance image. The engine, which might eventually be offered in an XK sports model, replaces Jaguar's first diesel, a 2.7-L V6 developed with PSA and Ford.
Introduced in 2006, the 2.7-L has proven to be very successful, but its capacity was always something of a compromise. Now that is about to change.
