Using hydrogen in an internal-combustion engine application requires not only a custom-engineered combustion concept, but also optimized operation strategies.
For more than 100 years, carbon-based fuels such as gasoline and diesel have taken leading roles as the most widespread fuels for mobility applications. However, the finite availability of these resources, CO2 issues, and emissions regulations have brought about the possibilities of replacing conventional fuels with an alternative fuel such as hydrogen.
