Does the radio that has everything need a place to store it?
As radio head units become a connection point for myriad consumer devices, system architectures are shifting. Bluetooth profiles are expanding, Wi-Fi is seeing some acceptance, and memory architectures are changing quickly.
Engineers must now determine how to connect devices to the radio and decide whether they want to store much data in the vehicle. There are a number of design trade-offs as engineers weigh cost trade-offs and attempt to cope with the rapid changes in consumer devices.
