General Motors Corp. sees several avenues to a hybrid future, a transit bus leading the way.
Although some automakers are on their second generation of hybrid vehicles, this electrifying technology is still in its dawn. The SAE 2004 World Congress will bring to full light the extent to which automakers have awoken to hybridization.
General Motors Corp. does not have a passenger car using hybrid technology on the road today, but it's not as though the world's largest automaker is just beginning to smell the coffee. The company has exercised great patience with the technology and believes its deliberate approach will pay large dividends in the coming years as it introduces a range of hybrid technologies.
