“Sustainable Aviation” will be a key subject as representatives of the global aerospace industry meet at the Farnborough International Airshow.
This year's Farnborough International Airshow will provide the opportunity for a meeting of minds on the application of the broad span of technology that is needed to deal with the major sustainability issues facing the whole aerospace industry.
“Sustainable Aviation” is a UK aviation industry-wide strategy toward sustainable development of the sector that balances the needs of the environment with economic growth and social responsibilities. “Commitments include an undertaking to work proactively at an international level to develop solutions,” said Mike Steeden, Director of Civil Air Transport at the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC). “But the strategy itself is unique and a world first for the UK.”
