- Energy regeneration systems in automotive suspensions are nowadays very impactful and often imply a redesign of the suspension system. The aim of this work is to propose and evaluate the applicability of a miniaturised and hybridised generator to power an inertial sensor and a microcontroller, in order to obtain an energy-independent and low-invasive sensor-generator-controller scheme that is also suitable for retrofitting. The proposed system was analysed from an electronic point of view and a possible application in a double whishbone suspension mechanism was presented. The results showed that it is possible to power the entire proposed system by means of a single generator, recovering approximately 3.6 W at 5 Hz, with a packaging volume of 26805 mm^3.
