Despite apparent unfavorable market conditions to launch a new light truck, Chrysler executives believe it is absolutely the right time.

“Contrary to recent reports, the truck industry is alive. It is the third largest segment in the industry at 11%,” said Jim Yetter, Senior Manager of Dodge Brand Marketing, at the 2009 Ram's press launch in late August. “But the customer is very discerning in the marketplace now. That's why we believe this is a great time to launch a truck because…we have a lot of smart solutions, a lot of innovation, a lot of new things that the competitors don't have that we believe will win over the customer.”
