Cummins started with a clean sheet, and some legacy technology, for what it describes as the most powerful high-speed diesel ever built.
The star of the party that Cummins threw this past fall at its Seymour Engine Plant (SEP) in Indiana was not a debutante, but a hedgehog.
Hedgehog served as the program code for what has since been revealed as the QSK95, “the start of a whole new platform,” said Mark Levett, Cummins Vice President and General Manager-High-Horsepower Business. “The QSK95 moves Cummins into a significantly higher power class, and we know that many of our customers have been anticipating us making that move.”
