The new entry from Cadillac combines utility and load-carrying capacity with a sporty driving feel similar to that of the CTS.
The all-new Cadillac SRX luxury utility is a vehicle with a towing capacity of up to 3500 lb (1590 kg) that is said to drive like a sport sedan. As the first in Cadillac's S-series, SRX foreshadows future vehicles like the next-generation STS sedan. The styling is based on the look of its concept vehicle predecessor Vizón, developed from themes established by Evoq in 1999 and Imaj the following year.
Available with rear- (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and based on GM's Sigma architecture-first seen on the CTS-SRX is designed to deliver good driving dynamics. The flexible Sigma architecture has been modified for SRX, which with the longest wheelbase in its class helps in the areas of ride quality and dynamic stability. A near 50-50 weight distribution, low center of gravity, powerful engine, and a host of the latest vehicle stability technologies contribute to making SRX a utility vehicle that is both pleasing and safe to drive.
