Electronics innovations are behind many of the advances in hybrid, diesel, and conventional gasoline engines.
Interiors and body styles change continuously, but basic powertrain elements still bear strong similarities to the technologies used for decades. Convergence presentations and exhibits will explore new technologies such as hybrids, while also focusing on the trend to integrate multiple systems to bring more benefits.
Taking the conference's reinvention theme to heart, powertrain engineers are working with disruptive technologies such as hybrids and fuel cells. But they are also striving to reinvent the powertrain by making diesels more viable for the U.S. and other markets while further improving the performance of gasoline engines.
