Aircraft manufacturers continue to adopt new technologies that improve efficiency, speed up production, and reduce worker injuries.

The unique aspects of aircraft construction call for a number of unique manufacturing technologies. Lasers, remote controls, positioning techniques, and even satellite positioning are among the many tools being used in modern factories. While robots in aerospace are still rare, other technologies are making life easier for operators, allowing them to be more productive while keeping workplaces safe.

As they employ more technical solutions, manufacturers are also making more use of simulation and life-cycle management tools to ensure that workflows are effective. But while many of the technologies used to make planes are similar to those used in other fields, industry leaders are also breaking new ground.
