Saturn took cues from its European partner when designing a new entrant for the U.S. midsize market.
Since its introduction in 1990, Saturn has been known more for its customer-friendly pricing policies and environmentally conscious manufacturing processes than the attractiveness of its vehicles. In recent years, however, vehicles such as the Vue crossover and Sky roadster have helped breathe new life into the Saturn lineup.
With the 2007 Aura midsize sedan, Saturn attempts to infuse a level of refinement into its lineup that has previously been missing. When creating the vehicle, designers leaned heavily on their partners at Opel in attempting to infuse the Aura with European-flavored style and driving dynamics.
