There is nothing straightforward about achieving lower noise levels in an off-highway vehicle while maintaining the required level of performance needed for such an application. Some people may argue that any good product can be made into an excellent one, and in many examples, this improvement is achieved by concentrating on just one factor such as the level of noise.
Paul Ross, Global Market Sector Director for the Agricultural and Industrial Vehicle team (as well as the Commercial Vehicle team) at Ricardo has a great deal of knowledge in the sector. A former main board director at Caterpillar U.K., he currently sits on the Construction Equipment Association board, and is also part of the U.K.'s Trade and Industry board for advanced engineering.
