Crossovers and fuel efficiency were big news at the 2006 event, but revived muscle cars stole the show.

General Motors says the Chevrolet Camaro Concept embodies the performance and passion that have made first-generation Camaros some of the most sought-after collector cars while updating the formula with a fuel-efficient powertrain, sophisticated chassis, and contemporary design execution.

“The overall proportions, long hood, and powerful fender forms say, This is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive performance vehicle,'” said Tom Peters, Design Director for GM rear-wheel drive performance cars. Peters led the team responsible for the Camaro Concept along with the latest generation Corvette.
